Bogard Construction,
experienced in LEED Certified projects, built the new science wing at
York School to qualify for a LEED certified rating. LEED's environmentally
sensitive "green" construction practices make use of sustainable
and recyclable materials. The materials used included Trex Wood-Polymer
Lumber for all exterior decking. Engineered recycled lumber for beams,
joists, rafters, and columns, and post-consumer/post industrial recycled
insulation. Bogard installed a special transparent panel into the ceiling
to allow students to view the unusual materials used to insulate their
building—recycled blue jeans! |
